All light, before it shows itself, hesitates. That instant—minimal—is where painting happens. It is not a matter of re-presenting, but of sustaining the tremor: that luminous tremor where the image has not yet fixed itself and desire has not yet been named. Painting situates itself on the threshold between the visible and what resists being seen, where the gaze, more than capturing, grazes, wounds, and awakens. As in Klossowski's Le bain de Diane, vision is a scene of tension: light touches flesh, pierces it, reveals it, and strips it bare. In this interplay between appearance and concealment, the figures become bodies of light, remnants of a vision that trembles before taking form. Painting thus emerges not as representation, but as the echo of a luminous wound: a field where desire manifests in its own overflow. All painting, at bottom, is that: a wound. Sidharta Figueroa is a graduate of the Escuela Nacional de Pintura, Escultura y Grabado "La Esmeralda" in Mexico City, and has complemented his training with studies in audiovisual arts at the Escuela de Cine y Teatro Metrópolis in Madrid. His work has been recognized with the Premio de Adquisición UNM2 at the WIT Festival de Arte (Guadalajara, 2022) and with an Honorable Mention in the Taller de Prácticas Postpictóricas of the Bienal de Pintura José Atanasio Monroy (Guadalajara, 2018). He has completed residencies at Air Montreux (Montreux, Switzerland, 2018) and Abu Dhabi Art Hub (Abu Dhabi, UAE, 2013). Among his solo exhibitions are those held at Maison Visinand (Montreux, 2018), Galería Juan Soriano (Guadalajara, 2018), and the Galería Espacio Alternativo at ENPEG. He has also taken part in group exhibitions at venues such as Espacio Cabeza, the Salón de Octubre, the Capilla de Santa Paula, in addition to his participation in the XVIII Bienal Tamayo at the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Oaxaca.
